Membership Policy

Section 1.  Eligibility

Any individual who work as an database administrator, DBA manager or other DBA related jobs may become an member of this Organization.

Section 2. Privileges

Individual members of the Organization shall have the privilege of holding any elective or appointive office in the Organization, shall be entitled to serve on committees of the Organization, and shall be entitled to vote on questions of official Organization business, including amendments to these Bylaws, resolutions of the Organization, and elections for Organization offices.

Section 3. Enrollment

The enrollment of a member occurs upon acceptance of an application for membership by the organization.

Section 4. Dues

The annual dues of the Organization is free after 1/1/2003 for individual members. The amount of annual dues of the Organization shall be changed upon resolution of the Executive Committee.

Section 5. Voting

Each individual in good standing as of the record date shall be entitled to one vote on matters before the Organization.

Section 6. Termination

The Executive Committee, by affirmative vote of two-thirds of all the members of the Committee, may suspend or expel a member under the following circumstances:

(a) Voluntary withdrawal
A member may at any time withdraw from membership in the Organization by filing a letter of withdrawal with the Secretary-Treasurer of the Organization and it shall be effective as of the date it is filed. Withdrawal shall not relieve any resigning member from any obligation owed to the organization and shall not diminish any right of the organization to enforce such obligation.

(b) Suspension and expulsion
If, in a written and signed communication addressed to the Board of Directors, any member of the Organization,  shall be charged with conduct detrimental to the objects or interests of the Organization or in violation of the Organization's Articles of Incorporation, bylaws, code of ethics or other rules and regulations, the Board of Directors shall consider the matter. If the Board determines further action is necessary, the Board Secretary shall send a copy of the charges to the accused. The accused shall be given adequate time to reply to the Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors shall take further action as it may deem necessary and proper. If two thirds of the members of the Board of Directors, after a fair and impartial hearing, shall be satisfied of the truth of the charge, the Board of Directors may request the offending member to resign or may suspend or expel such member.

Section 7. Reinstatement

Upon written request filed with the Secretary-Treasurer by a former member terminated for cause, the Executive Committee, by majority vote, may reinstate such member.

Section 8. Transfer of Membership

Membership, or any right arising from it, in this organization is not transferable or assignable, either voluntarily or by operation of law.

Section 9. Code of Conduct

Members are subject to all policies and procedures of the Organization. Any properties of the Organization, including, but not limited to, email list, member information, member-only information can not be re-distributed without the written consent of the Organization.
